School of Continuing and Professional Studies Scholarship

    As part of our commitment to helping adult learners achieve their educational goals, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies will offer scholarships to be applied to tuition and fees for the spring 2026 term. These scholarships will vary based on merit and financial need with award values ranging from $500 to $3834. The purpose of this funding is to support students who may be experiencing unexpected financial challenges. 

    Eligibility and Requirements:
    • Commitment to completing the Master of Public Safety degree at UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies: You must demonstrate a strong commitment to completing your Master of Public Safety degree in order to advance personal, educational or professional goals (evaluated on your essay response in this application).
     
    • Financial Need: You must demonstrate financial need based on responses to questions in this application. Preference will be given to students experiencing significant financial challenges.
     
    • Program Admittance and Enrollment in Coursework: You must be admitted to the Master of Public Safety degree program through UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies for the spring 2026 term (or prior terms). Prospective students who submit an admissions application for the spring 2026 term are also eligible to apply for this scholarship. Enrollment in Master of Public Safety degree coursework for the spring 2026 term will be a requirement.

    • Academic Strength: You must demonstrate academic strength and potential for success as follows -
      • If you are a currently enrolled student, you must have demonstrated academic strength within the Master of Public Safety program based on your cumulative GPA for coursework completed through the fall 2025 term.
      • If you are a newly admitted student, you must have demonstrated academic strength in undergraduate studies or recent continuing education programs.

    The deadline to submit this scholarship application is Friday, November 7 at 5 p.m. ET.
