ABOUT KATHARINE

Katharine DiResta currently leads the UVA Temps team as the Supervisor and has been with UVA for the past six years. Her team is responsible for hiring all temporary employees across the University’s Academic Division, Medical Center, University Physicians Group, and Foundations/Associations. Katharine has over 10 years of Human Resources and Recruitment experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining UVA, she was a Recruiter for Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Banking & Securities division. She earned her Master’s degree in Management and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University. Katharine and her husband have 2 young daughters and a golden doodle.

ABOUT EMMA

Emma Slonim is currently a Recruiter with the Talent Flexibility team at UVA and has been working in Human Resources for five years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree inFinance from the University of South Florida and started her career at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she led the coordination of Talent Acquisition, the onboarding process, and the internship program. Emma joined UVA right before the pandemic and currently recruits for all wage positions at UVA including temp, staff, faculty, and student wage positions. In her free time, she is a proud dog mom.
