Letter of Intent to Apply to the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies under the Guaranteed Admission Agreement with VCCS

    Students with a minimum cumulative GPA in VCCS coursework of 3.0 may apply for admission to the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program under the Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA) between the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
    • Please submit this Letter of Intent Form, along with official transcripts, by February 15 for Fall admission and July 1 for Spring admission. Transcripts can be sent to the following address:

    • I must graduate from a VCCS community college with an approved associate’s degree, defined as an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Arts and Sciences. Associate of Applied Science degrees do not qualify for Guaranteed Admission.
    • I intend to enroll in the upcoming Fall or Spring semester and will submit a complete online application for admission to the BIS program. The deadline is May 15 for Fall admission and Nov. 1 for Spring admission. Failure to submit a complete application by the deadline may invalidate the conditions of the GAA.
    • I need to complete 60 transferable credits as specified by the GAA:
      • I have completed or will complete all courses with no grade below a C; and
      • I have completed or will complete all English Composition courses (ENG 111 & 112) with a grade of B or better; and
      • If I have specific outstanding courses to complete, I understand that they must be completed within the parameters of the GAA before beginning coursework as a matriculated student in the program.
    • I must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and have a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of graduation.
    • I have read and understand how courses are transferred into the University of Virginia according to the GAA.
